What size
aggregate should I use for pathways and drives?
-
The common sizes we supply are
10mm and 20mm for gravel; 20mm and 40mm for slate. 10mm gravel/20mm
slate is best for pathways, as it is
easy to walk on. 20mm gravel/40mm slate is best for drives, because the smaller
aggregates may get into the treads of car tyres.
-

-
How much aggregate do
I need to buy?
-
Aggregates are calculated by volume. As a
guide, 25-30 sq meters, to a depth of 25 mm (1 inch), will require 1
tonne of either gravel or slate.

Delivery of gravel and/or slate is kerb-side, using a tail lift offload; for larger
quantities a tipper wagon is used.
-

-
Do I have to be home when the delivery
is made?
-
It can be arranged for the delivery to be left without a
signature; we would need prior notice of this. However, for a tipper
wagon delivery, it is essential you are at home.
-

-
Are the 1 tonne bags returnable?
-
No, the bags are single use only, although they can be useful for
collecting hedge clippings etc in the garden. |
